It's a symbol to show everyone how much exprince you have with the game. Tell me, how many people have FoW armor and are newbs who don't follow instructions based on rational logic? Answer is : Not many, almost none.

15k means your a exprinced farmer, but not in terms of teamwork.

Drok armor : People who are still beginners. (If they start whining about how 15k or FoW is pointless, their hopeless)

Collectors or worse : Speacial reasons. Otherwise noobs, who might as well go sell their account.
Hmm.. Really? So, since I decided to stick with the Droknar's Armor for my Ranger and Mesmer, I am a beginner, even though I have the 15k Armor for my Elementalist and Warrior? Not to mention the 300k or so I have spent just dying them all right...

And by the way? My Ele and Warrior had the 15k Armor before I even started farming.

Generally I like your posts Ivy, and agree with quite a few of them. This one however, I strongly disagree with...

Um, how about "no"?

Anyone with friends and decent guildies can have the 15k armor the first day they start playing...

Default Not really

Not really Maria the Princess seeing that if somebody is given 15k to buy a armour set then they would be ran to where ever you buy it meaning that they would probalyl also be power leveled by a friend Probabiltiy of that is very high.
I'm going to do it for a friend won't be 15k set only 1.5k seeing i jsut spent all my money:O I'll power level him while he's on too.

Reason for 15k set?? they have the cash the armour looks better alot of people seem to "respect that set" or they jsut think wow she/he's spent 60-75k on armour he/she has gotta be good.

That MAY be true, and is probably a good thing to assume. But as the old saying goes... you know what happens when you assume...

I am really not trying to attack you, just trying to warn you of using words like "definate" and other absolutes. There are always exceptions to every rule and you can't judge a book by its cover.

Wow, how many more cliches can I use in my post, lol.

roflmao............You try getting the desert collector boots for the warrior, then come back and apologize for your remarks. The collector for the boots is in the middle of nowhere and you have to research the forum or explore the desert for hours just to find him. Plus you have to know what items they need and either buy them or farm for them in advance. Any noob can borrow money from there friends or guild to buy 15k or droks armor.

I currently have four 15k sets, 1 drok set, and 1 collector set spread across 3 characters. Your just paying to look pretty and that doesn't say a damn thing about your performance skills in playing the game. Put a warrior with FOW armor in pvp and he's my first target, the warrior FOW armor looks even better when its face down in the dirt with me dancing over it

Heres an example for you..................my 4th character n/mo was an MM with grotto tats and blood stain boots.............this was my first time playing necro as MM after having the game for over 10 months. Sure I look cool in my grotto armor because I could afford it after so many months of playing, farming, and trading, but I'm still a bit of a noob cake at MMing.

All desert collectors that give armor (exept for boots)are outside of towns! soooo hard to get.... and the boots guy, you can ask a guildie group to just lead you there. as for materials, its all on the web. so not that hard right?...

when you came to mm scene, you were new to it, but my point remains the same! you had exp in game before, so you knew what to do with your necro and you know that your new in mm and you probably reserached the build!

Hmm... I'd wager about 7 more, if you fiddle with the wording right.

Also a point I forgot to mention, I have only been playing Guild Wars for about 2 months... My Elementalist has had his 15k armor for, oh, maybe a month or so... So Maria, obviously your statement of "if a player is wearing 15k armor it shows that he definitly spent more then 2 mounths in the game" is in fact flawed and incorrect.

Not attempting to be a pissant or anything, just trying to say that foolish assumptions and generalizations are part of the problem with Guild Wars...

This was one of the STUPIDEST things I've ever read on this forum. You are saying that because someone doesn't have FoW they are too new to play??? What???
I have 6 characters over 2 accounts and have no desire to ever get FoW, infact I think most of it's ugly. Just a waste-I guess I'm a hopeless beginner that doesn't share your elitist view.

I never judge a player by his armor. It tells me nothing about that persons experience or skill at playing.

Sear a toon at lvl 1, go to Ebay and buy LOTS of gold. Buy a run all the way to Granite or Marhans. Results: level 1 with no experience in 15K armor.

Like I said some people just have some really dumb perceptions in the game. I will never understand why. I play to play, not to be a rankist or a whatever you want to call it, Armorist. whatever... Just Shut Up and play. Its a game, not a way of life...

well, im just surprised some people actually pay REAL money for game gold. i got my 15k armor after i spent at least 6 mounths in game. I finished all missions, got all weps, got all skills, THEN i got my 15k armor, cuz i dint have any other needs. i mean isnt the whole point of getting it, is actually achieveing that? not just buying 100k from e-bay?

Guys, this is the fifteenth post. Xceran's comment ended this argument with no contest. Why must we go on?

But yes, I too have noticed the huge increase of Fissure of Woe armor sets lately.
